Welcome to IRB Get Into Rugby

The IRB Vision is: Rugby - a sport for all, true to its values. Get Into Rugby is the IRB's development programme which aims to grow the Game of Rugby across the world in partnership with our Regional Associations and introduce people globally to Rugby and the values of Integrity, Respect, Solidarity, Passion and Discipline which inspire millions of people to play our Game.

This programme is designed to assist IRB member Unions to develop the Game in a progressive and sustainable way. The Get Into Rugby site provides member Unions and their coaches and teachers with the resources and information to introduce children to the Game of Rugby and encourage them to Try, Play and Stay in Rugby. Get Into Rugby also serves to introduce people to the unique values of Rugby, which are highlighted throughout the programme.

Please note all coaches and teachers delivering the Get Into Rugby programme must complete both the free online IRB Rugby Ready course which can be found at

IRB Rugby Ready

and also have completed the short IRB Get Into Rugby course run by an IRB Trainer/Educator.

On completion of either course, the IRB Trainer/Educator will supply teachers and coaches with a certificate of completion.

Remember, the correct preparation should be applied when playing, coaching or officiating Rugby at any level.

A Union wanting to implement the programme should

contact their IRB Regional Staff member

for more details on accessing the programme and completing the planning process.

The programme is now being implemented globally and is providing an innovative platform to introduce many new people to the great Game of Rugby.
